Precious Pearls from My Past

A morning spent in quest of a treasure.

In stacked away old boxes.

All jewel chests holding precious memories.

~

Four pearls from my past glow from the depths.

An autograph diary, two photo albums, an eucalyptus pod.

~

Precious words , just for me ; in stylish script.

Our cherished moments together, frozen for eternity ;

in these charming images.

A ‘gift’ chosen for me, that nature took ages to perfect ;

and that will be young for many more.

~

All other tokens of love had been ‘lost’.

Returned by the receiver for protection.

And burnt by the giver for safety.

~

These persistent few refuse to pass away into oblivion.

Enduring the ravages of time , waiting patiently ;

for the receiver to rescue.

Still as fresh as their instance of creation .

~

Greatly Gutsy as the Giver.

Purely Placid as the Receiver.

~

These Pearls are a pleasure or a pain?

Pleasure infinitely.

Pain intermittently.

~

Ornaments occasionally.

Bejewelling my eternally beautiful memories.

~

Of Affections that are Innocent Forever.

Of Gifts that are Precious Pearls.
